New industrial facility in Žilina
The ceremonial tapping of the foundation stone of the "SUNGWOO HITECH – The Žilina production complex" facility took place in the afternoon on January 10, 2011 in Žilina. On behalf of the Client – the company SUNGWOO HITECH Slovakia, s. r. o. – the opening ceremony attenders were addressed by Mr. Young Min Jung, the Vice-President of the company SUNGWOO HITECH. Short speech was pronounced also by Mr. Dušan Mráz, the Presiddent of the company Doprastav.
Doprastav was represented on this event also by Mr. Viliam Turanský, the Chairman of Doprastav's Supervisory Board, Mr. Juraj Androvič, the Director of the Žilina Division, the Design Team representatives as well as other colleagues.
The reason for the construction of the new complex at the Cestárska street in Žilina (the former premises of TBG Doprastav, a. s. concrete mixing plant) is the production extension – the production of automobile-body parts for the Kia Slovakia car-production factory. The Works are being constructed by Doprastav – the Žilina Division. The Design Team Chief is Mr. Karol Šubjak, with Mr. Jozef Kabatier acting as his deputy. Mr. Marián Panák is holding the position and acting as the Contractor's Site Engineer.
As Mr. K. Šubjak had informed, the facility consists of one-storey production hall with the dimensions 100.70 m x 100.70 m and a three-storey technics and operations part, which from the construction point of view represents a part of the hall and is its inseparable part. The hall will serve for the production (mostly welding of presswork from sheetmetal, car-body parts – the doors, floors, fronts, etc.) and in particular for the storage of the produced parts. There will be the offices, sanitary facilities and social premises situated in the integrated three-storey part of the facility. The complex built-up area represents 10,165.87 m2. The enclosed area volume represents 124,665.72 m3.
The load-bearing structure of the hall facility will be formed by reinforced-concrete carcass with the supporting posts spacing of 10 and 25 metres, complemented with the steel construction of the awning-type umbrella roof for the dispatch of the finished products and the steel annex building of the compressor plant. The carcass reinforced-concrete posts will rest on footing with precast foundation tambours. The external lagging will consist of heat-insulating sandwich panels. The roof will be formed by corrugated sheetmetal, lagging of mineral wool and waterproofing. The ceilings in the three-storey part of the facility will be cast-in-situ, reinforced-concrete, the interior non-bearing walls are designed to be built of traditional brickwork. The openings fill – windows and doors – will be of aluminium.
The works on the structure began on January 3 this year. The structure is to be completed on or before August 31. 5,000 m2 (i.e. 50 %) of floors area for the storage of technology must be prepared till April 30.
