Polish Award for Doprastav
The Tunnel at Laliki had scored
The specialized Polish magazine “Magazyn Autostrady” awarded the company Doprastav with the “Construction of the year” award for the construction of the first classical road tunnel at Laliki. During the ceremonial opening of the international construction and mechanization trade fair in the Polish town of Kielce on May 11, the prize was taken over by Mr. Róbert Turanský, the director of Doprastav’s foreign business activities department. In this year the traditional international construction and mechanization trade fair has focused particularly on the construction of the motorway network in Poland.
The construction of the Laliki tunnel was part of the investment task “The S-69 Expressway Bielsko-Biała – Żywiec – Zwardoń, Section C2 Szare – Laliki”. The section was constructed by the consortium of the companies Bögl & Krýsl, k. s., Praha, Czech Republic (the leading member), Doprastav (the partner). Within the consortium, the construction of the tunnel was entrusted to Doprastav. The tunnel crosses the ridge of the Sobczakowa Grapa mountain (766.3 m a.s.l.) and is situated at a distance of only about 5 km from the Slovakian border. The tunnel is formed by two parallel underground structures: dual carriageway road tunnel, evacuation tunnel and four transversal interconnecting galleries.
As Mr. R. Turanský had informed, at present Doprastav, in cooperation with the company Polimex-Mostostal, is constructing a number of difficult motorway sections in the surroundings of the towns of Krakow and Katowice.
