APOLLO Bridge

In 2006 the bridge was awarded the Opal Award for the Best Engineering Works in the World, which is awarded by the American Association of Construction Engineers, as the only European project from among five awarded Works of the year.

Within the contest  "THE ENGINEERING WORKS OF THE YEAR 2006“, the bridge was awarded the following awards:

  • the Major Prize, the title "The Engineering Works of the Year 2006";
  • the Award of the Slovak Chamber of Construction Engineers for the remarkable architectural design of structural elements
  • the Award of the Mayor of Bratislava, the Capital of the Slovak Republic

In 2005, the European Convention for Constructional Steelwork (ECCS) awarded the European Award for the exceptionality of the steel structure.

The motorway bridge on the D1 motorway over the parking lot of the motocross complex SVEREPEC  was awarded the award of the Slovak Federation of Civil Engineers, the title "The Engineering Works of the year 2006“.

In 2004 the section of the D61 motorway "Mierová Street – Senecká Road" in Bratislava was awarded the title "The Engineering Works of the year“.

In 2004 the section of the R1 expressway "Hronský Beňadik – Nová Baňa – Rudno" was awarded the Award of the Ministry of Environment for the Works with the greatest environmental and architectural contribution.

In 2001 the New Bridge in Bratislava was awarded the title "THE ENGINEERING WORKS OF THE CENTURY“ within the national public un-anonymous contest announced with the objective to enhance the visibility of the Slovak architecture and construction industry.

In 2001 the multi-purpose facility "Košická" on the Košická Str. in Bratislava was awarded the title "THE ENGINEERING WORKS OF THE YEAR 2001“ for outstanding architectural, structural and engineering design.

In 1999, the section of the D1 motorway "Skala – Nemšová" was declared "THE ENGINEERING WORKS OF THE YEAR 1999“, the award given by the Ministry of Environment for the Works with the greatest environmental and architectural contribution.

In 1997 the section of the D61 motorway "Chocholná – Skala" was declared "THE ENGINEERING WORKS OF THE YEAR 1997“ for the Works with the greatest environmental and architectural contribution.
